Perfect traditional old English B&B

For a room for the night, this place is perfect. The style is old fashioned, but the place is clean, tidy, very comfortable, very friendly and 15mins drive from NEC. For silly low price you get parking, Wi-Fi and a cooked breakfast. This place reminds me of the best traditional English B&B from back in the day. I would always stay here over a Premier Inn or the like…plus it’s a fraction of the cost.

Stayed here for a night whislt visiting the NEC which is only 10 mins away. Pat was lovely throughout. Yes, the place is stuck in the 1980s with its decor but it's very clean. Room was dated but ample for my needs, nice touch with the different flavour teas and coffees, even biscuits. Bed was comfy to sleep on. For the £39 I paid for the night and the closeness to the NEC arena, you can't go wrong staying here.

Stop over

This is such a beautiful place for a stop over. Wed stayed a night from my sons wedding at nearby Shustoke Barn earlier in the day. Ye Olde Station is exactly as it says - an old now unused station with existing train line still in use. Pat the owner is such a wonderful host, most happy to answer questions, keep a beautiful guest house and cook a delicious breakfast. We had 1 double room and 1 twin single room for our sons. Rooms plenty large enough with en-suite in both. The double had a huge bathroom/shower room and the twin single had a toilet and shower room. Views from the single room looked over the front of the guest house whilst the double had the railway lines and main road. I love trains and as the freight trains passed through into the night loved the sound that lulled me to sleep. Most comfortable beds. Complimentary tea and coffee. Toiletries and towels. A super night stop over and breakfast from a busy wonderful wedding x thank you Pat xx

This guest house is in a lovely location not far from the NEC. There is ample free parking and the owner is pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is quite good, with good quality bacon, tea and coffee. The bedroom was tired and in need of decoration.. Towels and bedding are clean. The loo and bathroom are carpeted, which is unhygienic, in my opinion. The bathroom was a bit grubby and there was a bit of a whiff. Not sure if it was drains or the carpet. Our bed was comfortable. The shower was warm. Trains pass quite close to this house.

Excellent, traditional B&B

A very friendly welcome at this traditional and well-priced English B&B. It was a bit hard to find (satnav was useless) just remember it's closer to Furnace End than Shustoke. I was surprised it was so close to a rail line (but I shouldn't have been given the name!) but quite honestly it's a local line with only a few trundling by, so unless you're a light sleeper you quickly become accustomed. Full English breakfast was good and far better than a Holiday Inn where the rooms are double the price. I stayed here for an NEC conference so it saved me a fortune compared to closer hotels. For the price it is excellent and well worth a stay and I have no hesitation in recommending it if value for money is your priority.
